Recently after buying Sennheiser HD 280 Pro we amazed by its sound quality and design. Today we’ll share with you guys what we found great about this product and what not so great.
So, let’s get the ball rolling.
Sennheiser HD Pro has over the ear type design. I always prefer having an over the ear type design as they’re very comfortable and soothing to the ear.
The ear cups of Sennheiser are round and come with lots of padding. There is cushion on both the ear cups as well on the headband part. The good thing is that all these cushions are replaceable. If they get worn out at any time, you can snap this right off and pop them back with the new ones.
They weigh around 7.8 ounces and is not heavy. You can work for a long time with this earphone on your ear and won’t feel any pain.

The headphone comes with an impedance of 64 ohms. In general, an impedance in the range of 30 to 80 ohm is suitable for use in iPods, laptops, etc.
The Sennheiser HD 280 Pro operates with a frequency range of 8hz to 25 kHz and hence will provide with a high range of high and lows.
The ear cups uses Neodymium magnets which will inevitably increase the SPL (Sound Pressure Level). If you want to know more about Neodymium magnets, please have a look at this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ94Et74IYE).

The Headphone also features 32 decibels of ambient noise reduction which I must say is pretty much great for this price range.
So, outside noise of up to 32 decibels will not produce any effect on your listening quality. We did lots of testing with the headphone in different surroundings and found that these beasts do a great job of blocking outside sound.
The headphone offers flat response and is perfect for mixing and producing voiceover and other professional quality sound production.
You’ll also have a great base, mid and treble from the HD Pro.
We also tested the headphone on different music tracks including orchestral and hip-hop rock music. For the orchestral, it performed alright, producing a clear level of sound. It sounded great on rock music, though.
The Sennheiser works great on our laptops but be very clear that this is a professional quality studio headphone for recording and mixing sound. This headphone has an excellent quality driver which helps in minimizing the distortion.
The headphone can also handle very deep bass without cracking the sound up. This is a remarkable quality for a headphone at this price level.
• Extremely high quality design and built
• 32 dB of Noise Attenuation level.
• Interchangeable ear-cups
• Sound signature neutral with good highs and deep bass.
• Compact and fold up nicely.
• The coil is non-interchangeable. So, if we damage the coil in any way then, there is no easy way to fix it up. You’ve to open the whole thing up and then jack some new wire into it.
• Sometimes without any amp, I do find the sound little shallow
Though this headphone doesn’t break any world record on studio recording or mixing but considering the price and value additions it easily wins my heart and recommendation.
